It's not quite 7:30 on Monday morning. I'm sitting in our office/library/spare room/box storage room at my desk, reading email and surfing the the net, drinking tea and trying not to watch a cat attempt (and eventually fail) to expel a hairball, and occasionally checking my work laptop to make sure nothing new has arrived while I wasn't looking, because I'm not the only one up this morning.

IOW, it's a normal Monday morning for me.

There were times last week when I thought 'I should write something about that' but the time passed and I no longer remember what seemed so interesting.

We're continuing to work on getting Luna to eat (having completely given up on the kidney diet food after she refused to eat for two days when we tried to feed it to her). Like Ozone before her, she's more than happy to eat strained turkey baby food (but doesn't care for strained chicken).

And now I should get up from my desk and get ready for work, completely ignoring my inner 5 year old, who keeps whinging but I don't wanna.

Teddy was safely tucked in for a nap when they Disapparated in front of Prince Hall. The front door opened as they reached the top step.

"Master Severus! You is here!" An elf, neatly dressed in a pillow slip embroidered with the Prince arms, clapped her hands together in delight. "Mistress is in the library! I is getting her!"

They waited as the elf disappeared. Portraits, both moving and still, filled the entry way. Remus peered at one that seemed vaguely familiar.

"Grover Cleveland?" he asked.

"One of Gran's uncles was the Wizarding attache to his adminstration," said Severus.

1. Had a good break from studying and reading articles with pizza and buffalo wing dinner with all my girls!

This is the story I wrote for iulia_linnea in the fall_fantasia fest on InsaneJournal.

Sometimes when I'm assigned a prompt for a fest, I look at the recipient's likes and dislikes and realise that any story and/or pairing they're going to really enjoy is going to be out of my comfort zone. That's definitely the case with this story. Still, that being said, I'm very proud of this story and hope that I did justice to its themes and to those who have gone through and are going through something similar to what I put Harry through.

Because, just as there must be queers in the Harry Potter universe, so must there also be transgendered people and those who struggle with gender identity.
