Good day.
I got my A-Level results today. I got BCC. I needed CCC to get into my Firm choice for Uni. So all good there. Also, looking more closely at the results, I came close to getting ABC.
XD

I was out in Durham with [info]daughter_moon and Emma. [info]daughter_moon gave me an early birthday present (The Incredible Adam Spark by Alan Bissett). I also treated myself to a new graphics novel (Neil Gaiman's Neverwhere)

Then, when I got home there was a letter from UCAS and Aberdeen Uni telling me congrats for getting in. ^^
Also, there was a reply to my accomodation request. I got my first choice!
I'm in the brand new flats, which are self-catering and en-suite! Helz yes.

Now I'm off to eat one of my favourite meals (Tortellini with Carbonara sauce), drink my beverage of choice (Cranberry juice), and then eat lots of my favourite ice cream. I'm going to watch my new DVDs, play sims, and laze about.

This is a good day.

Your rooms sound nice... I assume "self-catering" means you've got a kitchen? At my school it's literally a requirement to live in the dorms all four years - to live off-campus you have to get specials permission from the housing people, and they don't have to say yes unless you're married, over a certain age (I think it's 25) or a military veteran. My school just kind of fails like that. -_-

...oh, and the point I was trying to make was that at my school, if you live on campus then you pretty much have to eat in the campus cafeteria. Unless you can present a note from your doctor giving a medical reason why you cannot eat the cafeteria food, you have to buy the meal plan, which is horrifically overpriced. And that is why Central College fails. :D

Yeah, the catering options are: catered meals where you have 2 meals per day in the Cafeteria or self-catered where you share a kitchen between 5/7 people. (There's 1 oven in the 5 people flats, and 2 in the 7 people flats - not sure which one I'm in yet)

You live in the dorms all 4 years? :o
It's the norm over here (most places mandatory) that you live in dorms for your first year, then get a flat in the other years.

This isn't really standard practice over here, it's just something particular that Central College does to squeeze as much money out of us as they can. And then they wonder why enrollment is dropping... -_-;
